SmithとSharp（2013）が分析した異感覚体験をもつ人の行動プロセスのカテゴリーと焦点化されたコードを用いて、Miller（2014）のSensational Kidsに掲載されている感覚処理障がいの幼稚園児の事例について分析した。発達過敏をもつ子どもが感覚アラームを作動させないようにするための工夫が他者によってなされていることが、SmithとSharpの成人を対象とした研究とは異なることが見いだされた。
