ブッダゴーサ著とされるパーリ律の註釈、サマンタパーサーディカーには、比丘と家族の関係をとらえる上で重要な意味を持つ記述が存在する。本論文では、この内容を検討し、血縁関係にある親族に対する薬の処方の許可等の事例を通して、インド仏教教団に属する比丘と家族とがいかなる関係にあったかを解明するための考察を行った。それによって、出家後も比丘と家族の間に密接な関係が保たれていたことが明らかになった。
