後漢の失訳とされる『後出阿弥陀仏偈』一巻をめぐって、その写本・版本と註疏を収集し、本書のテキスト校訂することによって原初形態を推定復元するとともに本書の成立時期・偈の韻律配慮・漢訳者または撰述者の想定・実際の用途や後世への影響など、関連する諸問題を考察する。また稿末に簡単な語釈を付した。
