西晋竺法護によって漢訳されたと伝えられる『龍施菩薩本起経』一巻の偈を取り上げ、その韻律調査を行うことで、漢訳当初のスタイルとして、前半が長行、後半が偈頌であったことを考察し、あわせて長行中に隠された偈頌にもおよび、ついで本経の漢訳者に対する疑義を提し、経録の記載と偈頌の漢訳体例からして、呉の支謙による訳出との結論に達した。
