台湾中央研究院での在外研究において、儀鳳年間の舎利頒布事業に関する最重要史料である梵境寺「大唐聖帝感舎利之銘」の拓本が、同研究院の傅斯年図書館に所蔵されていることを知り、「則天武后と阿育王――儀鳳年間の舍利頒布と『大雲經疏』をめぐって」の内容を骨子としつつ、新たに中文でまとめ直したもの。
