A Reconsideration of the Discourses of J. A. Comenius in Pre-War Japan （6）

This thesis is a part of comprehensive survey of discourses of J. A. Comenius in prewar Japan. In the late 19th century
 when the national education system was established
 the 17th century Czech thinker Johannes Comenius was introduced as a precursor of modern education. Investigation of the process of his reception will contribute to a deeper understanding of the reception of Western education in modern Japan. The Digital Collections of the National Diet Library
 which were renewed last year
 have enabled a cross-sectional survey of specific words in a variety of documents. For example
 an article on Comenius in the Education Magazine of Chiba Prefecture published in 1882 was revealed to have been based upon the article written by Ippo Kimura（1850-1901）
 who was involved in compiling the first encyclopedia in the field of education in Japan. This paper presents some facts that could not be followed within the period covered in previous studies
