大内氏奉行人による在陣日記「正任記」を手がかりに、守護権力の陣所への寺社など中小領主来訪の意義を検討した。来訪者を地方寺社と中央寺社とに分け、それぞれの来訪の意図、目的を考えた。その結果、地方寺社にあっては派兵対象地域における自領の保全および回復、中央寺社にあっては守護領国全体における所領の経営健全化、守護との円滑な関係構築であることを述べた。
