Drawing-based psychological interviews use drawing as a form of psychotherapy, and are generally referred to as drawing therapy. Regarding the significance of drawing therapy, I would like to discuss the following points with reference to Takahashi (1993, 2018): 1) the healing power of drawing itself, 2) cathartic effects, 3) desensitization, 4) an opportunity for self-insight, 5) development of potential for growth, 6) strengthening the relationship between therapist and client, and 7) the importance of dialogue after drawing.
